Lasagna Stuffed Shells - here's the original recipe, I adapted mine slightly.
Ingredients
- 20 jumbo shells
- 3/4 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup Mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup chopped spinach (drained)
- 2 cups of Ragu Sweet Italian sausage and cheese tomato sauce
- 1 lb of ground beef
Procedure:
- Bring a pot of water a boil, add your noodles and cook according to box instructions.
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
- Spread 1/2 cup of tomato sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 pan.
- Brown your ground beef in a pan. Season to taste. (I seasoned with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, garlic and onion powder.)
- Stir in 1 cup of tomato sauce into your meat.
- In a small bowl, mix your ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup of Mozzarella cheese, 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese, egg and 1/4 cup of spinach.
- Add in your beef and tomato sauce mixture.
- Spoon a generous amount of the final mixture into each shell. Place the shells in the pan of sauce with the opening facing up.
- smother your shells with the remaining 1/2 cup of tomato sauce.
- Generously sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top of your shells.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes uncovered, or until cheese is completely melted.
Enjoy!
